Abstract

The proper use of digital technologies in teaching can have a positive impact on achieving students’ results and their education. Through interactive engagement, students gain the opportunity to directly participate in learning, which at the same time increases their interest and motivation. The presentation will focus on the use of short video Skype calls with experts in the class and how this input can enrich the courses. The aim of the presentation is to share best practices as well as potential pitfalls which the introduction of this element into teaching might bring. Incorporating of digital technologies in teaching might not always be an easy task. Through sharing the best practices, the presenter will provide a necessary information for the conference participants to be able to whether or not to use a Skype call as one of the teaching tools in the class. The presenter will also discuss the difficulty of preparing for the Skype calls in perspective of both the teacher and the students.
