Abstract

This paper proposal is based on the study and processing of data from the International Social Survey (ISSP) for 2023. In particular, the methodology that will be followed, is related to the collection of data from online questionnaires, from twitter, as well as the application of web scraping method, in order to collect the corresponding data from websites. Additionally, in the context of the preparation of the paper, initially, the questionnaire of the ISSP 2023 survey will be studied, translated into Greek and the questions will be evaluated, as well as the way they are worded, in order to determine whether they are directly related to the Greek case. Furthermore, taking into account the questions included in the questionnaire, these are mainly related to issues of national identity, citizenship, as well as immigration issues. More specifically, there are questions that study the attitude of public opinion towards immigrants, as well as the positive or negative effect they have on a social, economic and political level. This question is directly related to the party preferences of the respondents, as it is more likely that a person who negatively evaluates the presence of immigrants in his country, will turn to parties that adopt anti-immigration policies. Finally, some other questions that this research focuses on, concerning to the degree of evaluation of the democratic state, as well as issues of national identity.
