Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the resilience of the modern Ukrainian nation. Social crises of 1990-1991 and 2004-2005 constituted impetuses for the facilitation of qualitative and quantitative development of the modern Ukrainian nation and Ukrainian national identity. The third crisis began in 2013-2014 and was associated with the Russian occupation of the Ukrainian Crimea and the armed conflict in the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. This crisis culminated in 2022 when the Russian Federation launched a large-scale armed invasion of Ukraine. In all situations, the Ukrainian nation has brought out and continues to bring out the ability to resolve internal contradictions, marginalize disintegration processes, and develop through integration and consolidation. It is essential to prevent possible threats to such dynamics to maintain it after the war.
