Abstract

The theme of ethnonationalism is today's challenge to global politics and the idea of global governance. The increasing rise of populism of the radical right parties tells us how important and central is becoming ethnonationalism once again in today's political debate. The ongoing conflicts, the recent electoral campaigns, and the narrative of radical right parties all refer to the element of ethnonationalism, going back to a primordial call of 'blood and soil'. The present paper intends to explore all those aspects and investigate to what extent ethnonationalism can be considered a leading feature in today's radical right authoritarian nostalgia.
