Nominations for the ECPR Executive Committee now open!

ECPR is governed by its Executive Committee (EC), a 12-member board that has overarching responsibility for the long-term strategic development of the organisation. In May 2024, six of the current EC will conclude their terms, providing an opportunity for six new members to help steer ECPR into the future.

About the role

Being on the EC is not an honorary post; it comes with work, responsibility and travel. The Committee meets in plenary twice a year, normally at ECPR's offices in Colchester, and during the General Conference.

Each member is allocated a portfolio of work and a subcommittee. These groups meet online more frequently, and work closely with ECPR Director Tanja Munro and other members of staff.

Seeking knowledgeable, dynamic candidates

Alongside their time and energy, EC members must therefore bring to the role their knowledge of the profession and the needs of the community they will represent. In return, they will work alongside an experienced, professional staff to develop and operationalise ideas, to lead projects, and to perform a key role in shaping the next six years of Europe's leading political science association.

Visit our Executive Committee page to find out more about current EC members and the portfolios they oversee.

The electoral process

Nominations are now open; read details of the electoral process and eligibility criteria.

In accordance with our Gender Equality Plan, ECPR will conduct two simultaneous elections, appointing three women and three men to the Committee. In this way, we will continue gender parity on the board, and ensure a balanced, diverse leadership team.
