About

In 2008 Daniela Pastarmadzhieva graduated in law (master's degree) at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), Sofia. She received her PhD in Political Science in 2013 from the same university. Dr. Daniela Pastarmadzhieva began her academic career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at UNWE, Sofia, Bulgaria. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and National Security at the University of Plovdiv Paisii Hilendarski, Plovdiv. The main scientific interests of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pastarmadzhieva is the study of civic participation, civic competence, political culture, electoral systems, leadership, etc. She participates in interdisciplinary projects with scientists from economics, management, computer science, statistics, etc. Alone and together with other researchers, Pastarmadzhieva has more than sixty scientific publications, including in journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. She teaches Elections and Electoral Systems, Comparative Politics, Political Culture, and Introduction to Political Science in Bachelor's programs. She also teaches Political Entrepreneurship in a Master's program. She is professionally engaged in the development of scientific projects financed by national and international programs. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Pastarmadzhieva is a member of the Bulgarian Association of Political Sciences, the International Association of Political Sciences (through BAPS), the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria and the Association of Young Scientists in Bulgaria.
