This panel examines the implications of Donald Trump’s second presidency for US foreign policy and the liberal international order. The papers explore domestic opposition to foreign policy under the Biden administration, the implications of US–China military and economic interests in Djibouti for American international leadership, and the evolution of China–Russia relations during Russia’s war against Ukraine. They also consider how Huntington’s ideas can help explain Trump’s second term and examine the changing relationship between US foreign policy and the liberal world order.
