Abstract

This panel welcomes contributions that address theoretical concepts in the sphere of democracy and democratization, concepts that are illustrated using concrete examples that support the theoretical assumptions. Exploring subjects such as political participation and ways to advance it in order to improve the democratic process, the meaning of majoritarian approach to democracy, applying the instruments of deliberative democracy to boost the effectiveness of political institutions, issues pertaining to single party dominance and its durability and in-depth studies on multi-level systems will improve both knowledge and practice regarding transition and consolidation of democracy.
