EPS welcomes a new Reviews Editor

We extend a warm welcome to our new EPS Reviews Editor, Luis Ramiro, and our heartfelt thanks to Fiona Buckley who steps down from the role after a five-year tenure.

Fiona Buckley

Fiona Buckley
University College Cork

In his role as Reviews Editor, Luis Ramiro will develop and innovate the Reviews section of our professional journal, European Political Science (EPS), to complement and support the broader aims for the development and growth of the journal in coverage, readership, and impact.

Luis, who is Associate Professor in the Department of Politics at Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), researches public opinion, political organisations, and political behaviour. His most recent publications have focussed on the vote for radical-left parties, party organisation, and political attitudes.

Luis' work has been published in the European Journal of Political Research, West European Politics, Party Politics, European Political Science Review, and Political Studies, among other journals. He is the author of Radical Left Voters in Western Europe (Routledge, 2022) which he co-authored with Raul Gomez, University of Liverpool.

Warmest thanks to the outgoing Reviews Editor

Luis takes over from Fiona Buckley who steps down after a fantastic five-year tenure in the Reviews Editor role.

We extend our gratitude to Fiona for her tremendous contribution to advancing the Reviews content of EPS. Since taking on the position in 2018, she has been key in transforming the Book Reviews section of the journal, taking on a range of new initiatives including Book Review Symposiums.

We wish to formally thank Fiona for her dedicated service and hard work and wish her the very best for the future.

About the journal

European Political Science (EPS) is an international journal which continues to grow in reputation, readership, and impact year on year, recording its highest Impact Factor to date of 2.436 in 2021.

EPS presents articles that explore how the discipline is, can and ought to be and publishes across four broadly defined areas: research matters, including debates within the discipline, research projects, information sources and funding opportunities; professional matters such as career structures and prospects, external evaluation, higher education reforms and accreditation issues; doctoral training and teaching topics; and relations between academics and politicians, policy-makers, journalists and ordinary citizens.

EPS also includes more substantive pieces that provide a political science perspective on important current events. In addition to original articles, the journal publishes shorter notes, review articles and symposia, progress reports on lively areas of research, profiles of people in the profession, and book reviews.
