The hidden nature of corruption challenges both our understanding and the implementation of effective anti-corruption measures. This panel aims to address these challenges by examining the mechanisms driving corrupt behavior and evaluating interventions to reduce its prevalence. Experimental and survey-based approaches offer unique insights into corruption dynamics that are often inaccessible through traditional methods. Experimental methods, including laboratory and field experiments, simulate conditions under which corruption occurs, enabling the analysis of incentives, risks, and social norms. They also facilitate the testing of anti-corruption interventions, such as transparency initiatives or behavioral nudges. Survey-based studies complement these efforts by examining public perceptions of corruption and its impact on institutional trust and collective action. We welcome complete papers based on robust empirical research or preliminary designs employing experimental or survey-based methodologies. Abstracts should clearly outline the research question or objectives, methodological approach, and preliminary or expected findings.
