51
Alrik Thiem

Abstract

The panel inquires into the latest developments in Foreign Policy Analysis (FPA). It includes a wide range of approaches analysing foreign policy through both structural and agency-based perspectives. First, more theoretical contributions explore the complex links between democracy, public opinion or legitimacy and the construction of foreign policy at various levels. Second, contributions map the various international identities and strategies of coping with the developments of the international system that states adopt. The foreign policy of both minor states and more important international powers are explored, with a special focus on the European Union.
