2019 Joint Sessions of Workshops, Mons

The ECPR's Joint Sessions of Workshops bring together political scientists from across the world for five days of intensive, fruitful collaboration.  Established in 1973, they are now recognised as one of the major highlights of the world's political science calendar.

In 2019, the Joint Sessions take place at the Université catholique de Louvain in Mons, Belgium.

The Workshops, which involve scholars at all stages of their careers, are closed gatherings of 15─20 participants. Topics of discussion are precisely defined, and only scholars currently working in the Workshop's field, and with a Paper or research document for discussion, are invited to take part.

You may attend only one Workshop, and must stay for the duration of the event. This format ensures thorough critiques of the new research being presented, and sometimes results in new research groups being formed to take that work forward.
