Theofanis Exadaktylos

Theofanis Exadaktylos

Theofanis Exadaktylos is a Professor of European Politics at the University of Surrey with research agendas in Europeanization, European foreign and public policy, democracy support, political trust and policy implementation. He has a keen interest in research design and research methods. He has published work on political trust and policy responses in the context of the pandemic, the impact of austerity on policy reforms, and the emotional economy of financial crises and Brexit.

His work has been published in the Journal of Common Market Studies, Policy Studies Journal, Politics & Policy, Policy Studies, European Policy Analysis and Journal of European Integration among others. He is the co-author of Policy Styles and Trust in the Age of Pandemics (Routledge, 2022) with Nikos Zahariadis, Evangelia Petridou and Jörgen Sparf. He was the co-editor of the Journal of Common Market Studies Annual Review for six years (2018-2023).

I am truly excited to be joining EPSR, one of ECPR’s flagship publications. The journal has come a long way as an established outlet for cutting-edge research that leads within our discipline. I look forward to working with Marina Costa Lobo to continue the legacy of EPSR and opening up the journal to even more innovative and novel research contributions.

Warmest thanks to our outgoing Editors

Stella and Theofanis take over from former Editors, Alasdair Blair (EPS) and Matt Qvortrup (EPSR) who have both completed dedicated eight-year tenures. We extend our gratitude to Alasdair and Matt for their fantastic contribution and hard work to EPS and EPSR, and wish them all the very best for the future.

Alasdair Blair

Being one of the co-editors with EPS has been an extremely enjoyable experience. During my time as a co-editor, I think we have helped to shine a light on many important debates such as academic freedom and diversity. I also think that the journal has evolved significantly in terms of layout and overall approach.
