Abstract
This panel focuses on the career paths and backgrounds of women who go onto become leaders and political elites. Special attention is paid to leadership selectorates and differing paths to the top of the leadership ladder, professional backgrounds and ministerial appointment, gender and portfolio congruence, political recruitment and portfolio saliency.
