As our Joint Sessions approach the fifty-year mark, 2023 is turning out to be a golden year for submissions, too.
Next year, our defining event marks five decades of helping scholars worldwide improve their research, grow networks and get published. And we are thrilled to share that we have received an impressive 85 Workshop proposals!
The Joint Sessions were born in Mannheim in 1973 when, for the first time ever, ten parallel Workshops were organised as an alternative to a series of one-off Workshops throughout the year.
The overwhelming number of proposals for next year's event indicates, once more, that the Joint Sessions remains one of the most highly anticipated gatherings in the world's political science calendar.
But don't take our word for it – see what your fellow scholars have to say about their Joint Sessions experience.
The above testimonials are from the 2022 Joint Sessions participants.
As we prepare to celebrate the Joint Sessions in their golden year, we'll also be joining our host, Sciences Po Toulouse, in marking its 75th birthday..
Since opening its doors in 1948, Sciences Po Toulouse has grown to become a body of over 1,600 students, rigorously selected via nationwide examination.
Sciences Po Toulouse is now located in downtown Toulouse, in a historic former Tobacco Factory on the river Garonne. Within the University of Toulouse, it is a Grande École, with its own governance, budget, and personnel.
All Workshop proposals will now be carefully evaluated by the ECPR Executive Committee portfolio holders.
Their final selection will be based on the following criteria:
You'll hear about the outcome of your submission in early November, following which a call for Papers will open.
